Alabama Power Crop

This poster is an homage to a legume. Unless you’re allergic, almost everyone enjoys some kind of food or candy with peanuts in it. While they are yet another crop most frequently associated with Georgia, over half of all the peanuts sold in the United States are grown within a one hundred mile radius of Dothan, Alabama– home of the National Peanut Festival. Planting peanuts saved south Alabama farmers from total financial devastation when an insect known as the Boll-Weevil infested and destroyed Alabama cotton crops. Now the peanut is king of the wiregrass region of Alabama.
